Stormz Community Charity Single

For this one-time, FREE event, our choir of 20 confident singers will join local band Country Stormz as they record a charity single to benefit and raise awareness about mental health, and will perform in their concert on 29th January at Acapella Studio in Pentyrch! Singers will take part in 3 rehearsals to learn the song they'll be recording and performing. A children's choir will also take part, and the entire performance will be a surprise for the audience, who will not know that we will be joining in!

Our rehearsals will take place on Thursday 13th, 20th, and 27th January 2022 at Radyr Methodist Church. Rehearsals will last from 7:00-7:45pm.

On the day of the recording and concert, it will be a long but fun-filled day! Our choir will arrive at Acapela Studios at about 1pm, and will begin recording shortly thereafter. Once we have recorded, there will be an option to order some pizza and enjoy a meal together. The concert will begin at 8pm, and we will sing during the premiere of the charity single (and potentially in one other number as well!)

We will be taking precautions to keep all the participants COVID safe throughout the rehearsal process and the recording/concert. There will never be more than 21 people at any rehearsal, socially distanced, and we will be leaving a door/window open at all rehearsals to ensure proper ventilation (bundle up!). Our rehearsal venue requires masking at all times, so we will rehearse in masks at all 3 rehearsal sessions. Hand sanitiser will be available at all rehearsals.

All participants will be required to take a lateral flow test and report a negative result on the day of the recording/concert. Specific instructions about how to do this will be given to all participants before the 29th. Masks will be encouraged at all times when not singing. At the concert, our choir will be sitting in the mezzanine up above the audience, who will be restricted in numbers and will be required to stay seated at their tables.

PLEASE NOTE: As we have a very short rehearsal window, you will need to be able to attend at least 2 of the 3 scheduled rehearsals in order to take part! Please ensure you have availability from 7-7:45pm on at least 2 of the rehearsal dates before you sign up for your ticket.

Please also note that the choir area of the concert venue has stairs leading up to it. There is limited accessibility to the place in the venue where the choir will be performing from. Please bear this in mind!
